on her morning routine
My alarm clock is my daughter Uma at 7am. Either my husband and I wakes up and makes coffee with Uma while the other stays in bed for an extra 20 min. My husbands usually takes Uma to school then I can get 30min for myself to get ready in the rarely quiet apartment.
on her growing up in Tel aviv
I was born and raised in Tel Aviv- the most urban city (some will say the only real city) in Israel. Growing up it was like an urban village where everyone would know each other and we would sit in cafes all the time and go to the beach. I love living in NYC but Tel Aviv will always have my heart.
on studying in London
I moved to London to study at Central Saint Martins where I did my masters degree in Creative Practice for Narrative Environments. London to me is a strange city and I didn’t always love living there, but studying in London was an amazing experience for me. I didn’t go to college before (as I never did my BA) so I felt very privileged and full of gratitude during my two years as a student at CSM.
on her career path
My MA thesis was titled ‘Art Residencies in Areas of Conflict’. I researched this subject for a year and tried to understand how can the residency mechanism create heeling points in areas of conflict. When I returned to Tel Aviv I wanted to continue to research and act in the field of social based art so I started a new venture, ‘Peila’, (which means a female form of active, activist; active member, or enthusiastic) a non-profit organization that offered an innovative approach to the production and exhibition of art. Peila’s agenda was based on interaction with the local communities and other non-profits in Tel Aviv and Jaffa along with similar organizations around the world. Peila operated, side-by-side, a residency program allowing cultural operators (artists, curators, designers etc) both local and from around the world, to relate to the fascinating and controversial Israeli reality from a first hand experience. “Art as a means of communication” physically involves communities in hands-on experiences of art and culture making and art exhibiting.
on her interest in fashion
I started working as a stylist when I was 19 and continued working as a fashion stylists in films, TV and magazine editorials for more than 6 years. It was super fun in the beginning and later on became my main source of income while I initiated other creative projects in NYC and Tel Aviv. I stopped styling when I went to London to study for my masters degree. My last project was wardrobe and casting for an extremely weird and beautiful film called Andante.
on shopping & her style
My aesthetic is mostly COS, sometime Everlane for basics and vintage on eBay or random vintage shops.
on her beauty routine
I like to keep it very simple and I hardly wear any makeup. I use cosmetics to feel clean and don’t like to overdo it. I don’t really have all time favorite products. At the moment I am using Glossier’s Milk Jelly Cleanser, Soothing Face Mist, Priming Moisturizer, Super Glow Serum. Usually in that order. I use the Mega Green Galaxy Mask once a month when I have a few extra minutes in the shower. The only permeant beauty product I use is Calvin Klein One that I have been using since its glory days in the 90’s. I also use Chanel's Le Blanc De Chanel Multi-Use Illuminating Base and Clinique's All About The Eyes.
