An Iconic Night At The Beverly Hills Hotel

November 28, 2017

“The Beverly Hills Hotel, better known as, the iconic Pink Palace, really promises on the glitz and glamour that we grew up watching. ”

It's hard to describe a stay at The Beverly Hills Hotel, a 12-acre beautifully landscaped property, as old as Beverly Hills itself that welcomed iconic guests like Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe & Yoko Ono. It can be quite surreal to step into a place so far from my reality - I was treated like royalty. Accustomed to NYC, where us New Yorkers typically suffer together, I wasn't really prepared for this. Try taking your suitcase away from the valet here and insisting that you got it!

After letting go (just a little bit), I went on a tour of my room. Let's just cut to the chase, the bathroom has a bathtub, a shower, two sinks and oh yeah, a TV on the mirror, no big deal. So at that point, my plan for the night was made (pro tip: you can ask for as many bath salts as you like!).

I did eventually get hungry and asked the Concierge for some recommendations (for a change!) Best Vegan Mexican Food? Done. Gracias Madre added to the list. Of course it doesn't hurt to have the Passerbuys stamp of approval (recommended by Glynn Connolly and Zan Goodman).

I couldn’t help but stop in fascination in front of each corner of this weird/magical hotel, everything couldn’t be more photogenic, the rooms felt like a mix of old and new Hollywood, you can’t help but think of all the legendary people that stayed there. You quickly understand the pull to this place.

“For an iconic stay in Los Angeles, there’s really no better place.”

The hotel bar, Bar Nineteen12 (named in honor of the hotel's opening) was like something out of a movie, you instantly feel like a regular. It also helps when the martinis are amazing. I opted out from dinner at the Polo Lounge but instead had breakfast. This was probably my favorite part - people watching all the breakfast meetings, it really felt like the place to be or at least where all those Hollywood deals get made.

As much as the Polo Lounge fulfilled my people watching, nothing could beat The Beverly Hills Hotel pool. I desperately wanted to photograph this part of the hotel but there’s a reason why people spend here - privacy and comfort.
